The Ring of Brodgar is the largest stone circle in Scotland and also one of the largest stone circles in the British Isles. It is sited near the other neolithic or bronze age monuments of the Stones of Stenness and the very large chambered tomb of Maes Howe.

The circle is over 340 feet in diameter and has over 25 stones still standing the largest of which is around 15 feet in height. It makes an impressive backdrop for the TV series and movie that were filmed there.
