Filming started mid May 2003 at Glen Coe. The Sunday Herald newspaper had reports about the filming in the 18th May edition and 11th May edition.

Sparks from the Hogwarts Express apparently caused a fire covering 100 acres around the Glenfinnan Viaduct during filming on Saturday 22nd February 2003. See here for details
