Whisky Galore (2016)
|
A remake of the classic movie Whisky Galore
will be released in 2016. Much of the filming for this took place in
north Aberdeenshire at Port Soy in August 2015.
Whisky Galore
was based upon a true incident, the foundering of the SS Politician
off the Isle Of Eriskay in 1941 with 50,000 cases of Scotch Whisky
aboard. The Scottish islanders of Todday have had a drout of their favourite drink and by-pass war time rationing
and delight in smuggling cases of their favourite tipple from the
wrecked ship.
