Most of the movie Safe Haven was filmed on Tanera Mor, the largest and only inhabited island of the Summer Isles. The house used in the movie is the island's old schoolhouse, now a self catering cottage. The pier from which the characters depart the mainland was to the north west of Achiltibuie at Badentarbat Bay.
