Graham Merrill (Bill Travers) walks down a hill on his journey to the local village to buy fuel for his stove. This scene in Ring of Bright Water was filmed on the hill behind the village of Ellenabeich on Seil Island.

There is a large car park at the foot of this hill next to Highland Arts Studio signposted from the main road into the village. Walk up the hill by the very obvious path until you reach the gap between the cliffs on your left and right. From here continue along the path for around 100 yards and then take the path on your left which diagonally slants up the face of the hill. This goes to the top of the hill and the filming location.
