Several scenes show the base of the Struan Bridge (a somewhat disguised Forth Road Bridge). These were filmed at Shore Road in South Queensferry just to the west of the Forth Road Bridge.

After going through the expense of having to remove the Forth Rail Bridge from the backdrop of these scenes it seems enough money was left over to also alter the Forth Road Bridge as well.

Some noticeable changes were rounded tops to the main support towers/columns and the change of the St. Andrew’s Cross shaped bracing between the towers to solid horizontal instead.

The nearest matches to these towers are the Rumyang Bridge and Xihoumen Bridge in China, Humber Bridge in the UK or the Great Belt Bridge in Denmark, although none of these bridges have that distinctive round top.
