Lamia (Michelle Pfeiffer) proceeds along a road in her goat propelled cart before seeing the caravan of Ditchwater Sal (Melanie Hill) parked beside a small loch. These scenes were filmed at the Fairy Glen near Uig on the island of Skye, a fantastical area peppered with numerous small conical mounds.

From Uig ferry terminal travel approximately 1.5 miles south and then turn left at the signposted turning for Siadair/Balnaknock. Follow this single track road for 2km and the small lochan shown in the movie can be seen on the right. No formal parking as such, but opportunities for roadside parking exist.

These photos were taken over several hours on 22nd July 2014 during a very hot and dry spell at the height of the tourist season. Despite this the area was comparatively quiet with most people turning up, climbing the hill and then departing.

What all seemed not to notice was the face of a Fairy King with a large bushy beard visible at the right edge of the hill being picked out in the changing light conditions. Although this vision might just have been due to the the sun stroke I suffered...
