| |  From the car park in Plockton turn left and head back up the road out of the village passing on your left Plockton Primary School (Esme's school)and further up the hill on the right Plockton secondary school which appears in various guises in the series. |
| | From Plockton take the road to Durinish. On reaching Durinish go over the bridge and just past the road which goes off on the right through the village. |
| | There is space to park on the right hand side of the road. From here go up the small and very boggy hillock which overlooks the vilage and has a fine view of Skye. This is where the opening scenes of "A perfectly simple explanation" were filmed. |
