See the Camusdarach Locations Map page for details of how to get to the beach. From the beach car park follow the sign posted path alongside a stream to the beach.

As you reach the beach you can see a small single story house on the other side of the stream. This was disguised as the exterior of the church in Local Hero. The interior scenes of the church were filmed at the church next to the A830 at Polnish near Lochailort.

Most of the beach scenes in Local Hero were filmed on this beach. Carry on up the beach keeping the sand dunes on your left until you reach the top of the beach. The filming location for Ben's Shack was nestled between the sand dunes on your left and the rocky promontory in front of you at the end of the beach.

Some other scenes were filmed at the grassy area on the top of these rocks and on the other adjacent beaches and rocks further to the south.
